For many years the study of the human figure was my opening into the world of seeing. The deeper I looked the more I felt I was part of a long history of humanity wanting to know our world through what was closest to us, our own physical form. As my eyes became sharper I became more inquisitive about everything. My artistic journey has taken me deep into the study of the human form, exploring it in charcoal, pastel, clay and stone sculpture. And then entering the world of assemblage with found objects, homemade papers, the fluidity of water colors, and now the ancient art of beading. All in recognition and celebration of the spirit that infuses and binds us all.
